Week Seven wasn’t so kind once again to a pair of top-5 teams as #3 South Carolina and #4 West Virginia both fell to conference foes.  This week may bring more upheaval as Alabama, Florida and Kansas St. all face tough competition in the form of Tennessee, South Carolina and West Virginia, respectively.

Game of the Week: LSU 23-South Carolina 21.  A back-and-forth contest that came down to the final minute.  The Tigers placed themselves back in the SEC and National Title hunt with their gritty win over the Gamecocks.  South Carolina has a chance to do the same this week down in the Swamp against the BCS #2 Florida Gators.

Offensive Player of the Week: Johnny Manziel – QB – Texas A&M.  “Johnny Football” accounted for an SEC – record 576 total yards as A&M outlasted a game-La Tech squad.  The freshman is playing beyond his years, leading the Aggies to a Top-20 ranking.

Defensive Player of the Week: Khaseem Greene – LB – Rutgers.  Greene had a monster game against the Orange of Syracuse, accounting for 14 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and an INT.  Greene’s been a huge reason why the Scarlet Knights are off to an undefeated start in the Big East.
